Sweet Dough Recipe Ideas for All Occasions

Sweet dough recipes for all occasions include Catherine Cakes, small cakes in the shape of a roll or a square celebrated on November 25, in honor of Catherine of Alexandria. But the recipe may also be used for St. Catherine of Sweden or St. Catherine of Genoa, celebrated Namedays other times of the year. A couple more Namedays for November are November 1 for Rhoda, November 3 for Wendy November 22 for Sheila.

Set aside 1 hr. yeast, orange rind, salt, sugar, flour butter, egg and some orange juice and make 3 dozen doughnuts for a teen or football party.

ORANGE ICE BOX CAKE - Time for Food, Mrs. Walter Hague

1 can orange juice
Juice of 1 small lemon
2 tbs. plain gelatine dissolved in 4 tbs water
Add a 1 C. boiling water to gelatine
Add 3/4 c. sugar
Add Juices to mixture
Let stand until it jells
Add 1 pt. whipped cream
Rinse bread pan with cold water
Tear up angel food cake in bite size pieces
Mix with sauce and place in ice box until set
